Rusty Bresser (Education Studies)

Rusty Bresser’s exceptional talent as an instructor and his dedication to educational equity make his exemplary teaching record and contributions over the past fifteen years critical to the mission of UC San Diego’s Education Studies Program. In preparing the next generation of teachers, he consistently receives approval ratings of 95 to 100 percent from students on his Course and Instructor Evaluation Summaries. Comments praise his teaching style as interactive and warm, and his attitude toward teaching as “serious but fun.” One student wrote, “Mr. Bresser’s passion to learn and collaborate with his students made his lectures creative and meaningful.” Another student said, “I hope that one day I would be half the teacher you are to us. I can truly feel that you cared about us, the students, and the future of everyone’s education.” Dr. Bresser has authored or coauthored numerous classroom-based professional articles and books over the years and has been an invaluable mentor and model for his students.
