From the inception of her appointment at the UC San Diego Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Linda Awdishu has distinguished herself by the extraordinary quality and breadth of her teaching, which spans the classroom and the clinic. She has taught multiple courses to pharmacy students; precepted pharmacy residents; and mentored the research of pharmacy, medical, and graduate students as well as pharmacy residents and nephrology fellows. As one student stated, “Dr. Awdishu is very helpful and showed legitimate concern for learning; I appreciated her kind, caring nature for the students.” Dr. Awdishu has also developed and implemented the pharmacy component of an innovative, interdisciplinary, and interinstitutional simulated patient experience that involves pharmacy, medical, and nursing students. She is an exemplary role model to faculty aspiring to be successful clinician teachers.
