CAP Advisory Committee on Arts

About the Committee

Instituted in 1982 as the Subcommittee on the Performing Arts, the since-renamed Advisory Committee on the Arts serves as a standing subcommittee to advise CAP on the creative activity of faculty artists in the Departments of Music, Theatre & Dance, and Visual Arts. On occasion, faculty who are not in the aforementioned departments, but who have an artistic component in their work, may also be reviewed by the CAP ACA. Because evaluation of artistic performance does not typically lend itself to conventional academic procedures, an elucidation of a faculty member’s work and career path by the ACA aids greatly in CAP’s review of arts files.
